In this tutorial, I use a whole set of techniques inside @AdobeVideo After Effects to reproduce the look of Doppler Radar used by weather and meteorological forecase services. Recreating the look of a storm is relatively simple, but what "sells" the effect is when the screen updates line by line. To achieve the whole shot, I start with a black-and-white gradient on a circle - which I then use Colorama to give the storm its doppler colouring. Twirl and Turbulent Displace help make the storm look more realistic and then a simple expression on the time remapping property makes the whole thing look better.
