This tutorial revisits some of the older techniques in After Effects, combining them to create a large body of water with waves which a camera can move across. There are several tricks here, including using CC Turbulent Noise and Tritone to create a deep water texture and using linked cameras to move across the sea and CC Glass to displace the water to create "3D" waves.
When I learned of Mark Rober and Mr Beast's plan to launch TeamSeas I remembered I had this Adobe After Effects tutorial on my to-do list for ages and this campaign has given me the kick needed to get it made. #TeamSeas is a global campaign to raise $30M to remove 30M pounds of plastic and trash from our ocean, rivers and beaches.
